I just treat it like an open scrapbook or to find new artists and businesses.

It’s primarily a platform people use to show off manufactured and the *best* parts of their lives. This coming from an IG influencer.

A lot of people I know do instagram to keep their friends and family in touch with what's going on in their life. When I open insta, I mostly see people I know irl post stuff they've been doing recently, places they've visited, etc.

Pictures don't matter much on insta anymore, so if you care about reaching an audience reels are what they prioritize now.

What works best is posting ass.
It's unbelievable but even distinctly mid women, if they post ass can get into millions of followers range.

You post pictures of yourself.
You can either go the frequent-poster route, or have 20-50 select posts. You can use story highlights to add specific interests / things you do.
Photos should be aesthetic, and should reflect some of your best pictures.

ig is scrapbooking+shill olympics—so study the art of scrapbooking and study the art of shilling—pick a consistent aesthetic—push products you use, push your beauty tattoo artist, push your plastic surgeon, etc.—i’m morally opposed to scrapbooking—and shilling makes me cry so gl
