i do feel a lil bad seeing dunking on a person asking a question. id really prefer not to incentivize ppl against asking questions no matter how dumb. it's okay not to know things!

It also doesn't feel like *that* crazy a question? Like obviously behaviors can be genetically coded, but it isn't intuitively obvious that that'd be possible and curiosity about how it works seems super reasonable! How do genes lead to behavior? I'd love to read about that

I think the punchline at the very bottom (not shown) is a big part of it.

The incentive is for researchers (journalists) to see if anyone has researched this before (they have). Gregor Mendel discovered the answer before the American Civil War.
