I have intense executive dysfunction; i can't forcing myself to do anything boring, which means I fail at basic maintenance tasks. this is even with intense incentives; I was making 100k/month on onlyfans but it got boring so I stopped working that hard after just a few months

I could in theory make that much again if I started working that hard, but even with that much incentive I cannot force myself to do it. I either am zoned in hard on a project that I love or I'm playing video games while my life falls apart.

I've figured out some ways to be functional, like adderall helps a little bit, and I've finally hired a housekeeper to sweep my house into shape, I pay a but more for pre-sorted vitamin packs, etc. Its expensive to compensate for my executive dysfunction tho.

I'm actually pretty shocked that I've managed to work semi consistently on one long project this year, the kink survey. It gives me a little hope that I can do more normal types of work. Maybe it works when it's projects I chose and fully control!

also no I'm not loaded, after taxes (plus additional 15% self employment) a few months of onlyfans did pad my savings, but ive been just breaking even since then and am currently probably about as financially stable as a software engineer.

The Deutsch fans (with whom I mainly disagree on this point) would say that this is natural and important. That having fun is the best criterion for what to do, and will tend to lead to better outcomes. (how they explain why it actually seems not to is unclear to me)

Imagine what people with ADHD would do with basic income. We can't be bored, so we tend to just kinda create / invent stuff that hasn't been done yet. Huge amount of value in whatever weird stuff we'd do, but you can't get funding for "let's see what I make when I get bored."

Shit. You just described me better than I ever could. Even in my own mind I've never diagnosed it this well. 😮. Adderall, she said. Noted.
