I would decidedly not SELF-IDENTIFY as either an effective altruist or an aspiring rationalist. I try to avoid making labels subject to ongoing societal negotiation about their meaning a part of my identity.
I'm arguably "part of those communites", whatever that actually means 1/

I identify myself primarily as transhumanist, secondary as rationalist (LW kind). While I very much agree with EA goals and philosophy, I do not participate in any of their activities so I don't identify myself as EA.

I think they're like BLM to equality or Green Parties to the environment (ie. not so effective)

Why put (aspiring) only on the latter option? IME it's just as common in the former case, perhaps more so.
