This analysis is really neat! Passing along one thing I've found valuable in survey research in case it's useful: when a question is about something you can't have a negative amount of I suggest using a unipolar rather than bipolar scale:

yeah, I was using the same scale for a lot of questions, in hindsight I wish I'd used a diff one
