I get so envious when I read about women who plan their work and lives around their cycles. My cycle is anywhere from 34-62 days long. I never know when I’m going to get my period. Also, I don’t ovulate every cycle. So I never know what my hormonal situation is.

I saw a gynaecologist a few months ago after being on a wait list for a whole year. She put on me progesterone, which made me cry every day and feel suicidal. Her only remaining suggestion was the birth control pill.

I’m not comfortable with hormonal birth control because of the health risks (which are *wildly* downplayed, for some reason). Also, it doesn’t address the underlying issue. Why is all this happening in the first place? I’ve never had a normal or regular cycle in my entire life.

I'm not sure about the health risks, but from what I remember last time I did research, they seem to scale based on amount of dose, and you can get ultra low dose bc.
