how i shower infrequently but don't stink: my guess is there's some kind of microbiome balance going on; I first noticed this once when I went camping, and then after I got home and showered with heavy duty soap, found that I stunk *way* worse the next day. 1/

oh wow I didn't consider that, all my years of rarely showering and nobody ever brought up the fact that people get naturalized to smell, that is a totally new concept for me, I definitely haven't asked people I trust to tell me if I'm stinky before to calibrate

Yeah, and they get used to the smell too. 10 bucks you wouldn't even need to ask a stranger on the bus, you'd get the stink eye and they'd move.
