i'm pro-abortion but the results to many (not all!) of these questions make me think we don't *actually* view fetuses as just part of a woman's body.

i think the premise of that argument is that if you don't want a fetus attached to your uterus, it's your prerogative to have it removed from your uterus the pro-choice argument does not rely on a fetus being considered a part of its mothers body

i don't think so? like, the argument also really hinges on the fetus just being a cluster of cells, not conscious, etc.; pro-choice ppl generally do not support late-term abortions, which sorta contradicts your quoted premise

Expecting people to be consistent every implication of short wide-encompassing principle-slogans is silly anyway, but here particularly, it feels perfectly consistent to say "my oven my rules" but not be allowed to bake rat poison into cookies you intend to feed someone else.
This means "it's *involving* my body so I get a choice as to whether my body is involved," not "the fetus is just part of my body and thus not a person." A subtle but important distinction that these pro lifers explain
