A society that allows totalitarians to escape accountability for violating the rights of its citizens will never be at peace, and honestly doesn’t deserve it.

That wasn't a call for a truce or an apology, that was a continued denial of crimes of negligence or malevolence that continue to this day and shattered society with no sense of reconciliation, reconciliation needs frankness on previous crimes and that was not frankness
