I started twitter determined not to block anyone, then gradually started blocking anyone who was really abusive/stalkery, then anyone who insulted me, and I've just moved the bar to "anyone who makes me feel bad"

don't care if your thing was reasonable or mild or subtle, having to constantly ward off tiny hits of psychic damage from a bunch of people is not the experience I wanna be having on this bird app

I have started blocking people whom I like as individuals simply because I know that seeing their opinions will annoy me and will not be useful.

We wouldn't tolerate people following us around in real life harrassing us or making us feel bad. Absolutely the right call to reject toxicity. They always have the free speech to say whatever they want. Just not directly to me at all times.

I used to get mad when people blocked me but now I'm like "if we don't vibe it's fine" people should curate their feed however they want, especially bigger accounts that have to deal with a lot of noise
