my guess is most men's ideal setup would involve a loyal primary partner/wife/babymamma who they live with and have daily sex with, and then he also goes out and has more casual sex with new women every now and then for novelty and validation. The women are all chill with this.

Monogamy causes some problems because it’s primate biology practicing avian sociality for the sake of preserving civilization. But healthy monogamy doesn’t “get old” except for those that already stepped outside it.

Saying that monogamy comes with its own problems, doesn't refute the claim that it is better than the alternative. If the alternative was better at sustaining stable societies, our social norms would've evolved to reflect that.
