I don't want a world where people are expected to be unselfish, I want a world where being unselfish is in your best interests. Do system-wide incentives correctly and we won't have to resort to these religious-esque pressures!

That is what socialists are trying to do, but you’re a libertarian. Under an every man for themselves capitalist system, selfishness is incentivized. Any unselfishness is a risk to yourself.

Yeah, but a lot of selfish capitalists apparently can't see that far ahead (even for their own children and grandchildren? I guess they're anticipating an Elysium situation) and are actively making things worse for everyone else.

It seems like someone super-smart is going to have to game theory some incentive package that satisfies the needs of those with 'self-centered personality disorders' while de-incentivizing preying on the vulnerabilities of those 'tending toward natural altruism' or something
