So this thread is really interesting not because of the individual scores but rather to note how many familiar faces are tightly clustered around a 137+-5 average-ish score I expected more variation ig? Like I know identifying as smart is kinda a scene thing but why that band

idk if u have a bell curve and then theres some min cutoff for membership in a group, it'll probably look like its own mini bell curve right?

mhh I get the intuition you are trying to express but that's not how bell curves works. Since the lowest cut off on a tail is way more than any higher points. It's not a cutoff so much a fixed point of convergence.

Maybe this example illustrates well: Height is normally distributed, ie on a bell curve. I once went to a party organized by an online forum for tall people (where people posted tips re clothing brands, cars, airlines... and bitched about tall people problems a lot) (1/n)
