If you're the kind of person who will wanna cheat on your partner, then you probably shouldn't be getting into monogamous relationships! Unfortunately this is like 15-25% of the population; lots of you have been monogamypilled when you're not suited to it.

You definitely shouldn't be cheating, but also probably society has some blame here? Like imagine a happy 50's nuclear family where the man is secretly gay and cheating on his wife with other men. This sucks, this is bad, but also his culture didn't really give him a choice.

The more polyamory gets normalized and accepted in today's culture, the less excuse you have for cheating in monogamous relationships. If polyamory is actually an option for you and you pick exclusivity you're not suited for anyway, then idk u did it to yourself

Although I don’t completely disagree; I have to wonder if cheating while inside monogamous relationships leads to higher stability within a society than having higher proportions of poly relationships, especially with the speculation that most wouldn’t handle poly intelligently

I wouldn’t underestimate the role of others lack of interest in deterring people from pursuing liasons. Most men, and even many women, are just not that appealing to others. Especially when others perceive baggage.

That a norm directly opposes some aspect of human nature is not in itself evidence that that norm be harmful, unjust, misguided or impractical. Monogamy is very difficult for many men but a large % of them (to say nothing of society at large) are better off being tamed by it.
