I saw a talk by an EMT about 'breath play' at a sex research conference once. He _strongly_ advised against any recreational activities that mess around with suffocation or drowning sensations. He'd seen too many people die from doing that stuff.
im always a lil sus about this; theres some things that people are like 'this is dangerous' but then it turns out it's only dangerous if you're an absolute idiot, and a lot of people *are* absolute idiots
You've got that right! CIA etc get waterboarded to know what it feels like. If you do it, get someone who trained the technique. Nobody dead or driven insane please!
there's overlap in the risk from drugs that affect the heart and breath play. you cannot eliminate all risk nor accurately predict who is at higher risk. the best you can do is accept that the risk is small enough with proper precautions to not have a body to deal with
I’d tend to agree and not jump to conclusions based on “some with some credential said that”. Might come from having to fire so many doctors for gross incompetence. Or immeasurable hubris on my part. Tough to tell sometimes.
