Most people who find a random survey (especially with no idea who is) that their friends or partners introduce to them aren't going to lie on it.
The more people who take it, the less of a chance someone is going to lie simply to mess with the data.

I get that if we make a bunch of positive assumptions about the data quality then we don’t need to worry about data quality, lol

there's ways you can check for bad data, which I usually don't describe too much in detail publicly cause I don't wanna give malicious test takers the knowledge of what I check for. but I specifically design my surveys with this in mind.
