I live in the forrest. I see bears a lot i havent thought about what my strat would be to fight one. Mainly cause they keep to themselves mostly and not super trying to eat me. However, mountain lions terrify me and ive put good thought on how id respond if i encountered one

Bears, wolves, wild stray dog, current girlfriend's violent ex, you name I've imagined how best to defend myself in such a situation. If I don't have a gun on me, then go for the nearest heavy blunt force object or sharp object that I can find. Bricks, rocks, pointed sticks, etc.

First you always try to walk away from the situation but sometimes you just don't have that option and need to be prepared for the worst.

The strat is one, make as much noise as reasonable. Two: bear spray and carry gun.
