i think i'm missing whatever disgust/horror thing people seem to have around sex. bizarre fetishes don't make me feel freaked out, just curious. i don't have any 'depraved' or 'damaging' frame around any sexual arousal, there is no inherently bad arousal in my book.

i also don't think exposure to sexuality is inherently bad either, i suspect it's mostly culturally conditioned! can u imagine a world where naked bodies weren't taboo, flashing would lose all its power, nobody would give a shit

where i grew up, exposure to the *knowledge of what sex was* or what the genitals of the other gender were like, until age like... 16, was considered too taboo, too much exposure of kids to sex when they 'weren't ready to handle it.' I think they were wrong.

anyway when i see someone wearing big prosthetic boobs i dont feel a disgust response, its mostly like 'huh cool' And the thought teens might see it im like 'well this is the way the world is and it seems reasonable not to shelter teens from that'

i do agree that public school is a tricky frame, tho if you're gonna be on board the "if the majority of parents feel uncomfortable with their kids being exposed to something in the classroom then we should not allow it" then there's a few tougher hypotheticals down the line

This “story” is actually a great example of the huge distorting effect of social media. the fact that one (1) Canadian teacher is doing something a bit unconventional doesn’t actually provide any useful information about the broader culture but it will drive clicks, here we are

Personally, my inner self is more like yours. Those pics just made me go “huh ok”. But my biggest growth in life is kind of like your fascination with polls. It’s been the ability to take an eagle eye look from above at all the different types of ppl —

If your threshold is "Well this is the way the world is" where exactly is the line (if any), for sheltering teens? Could a teacher for example come in with gore printed on their shirt? Could the teacher have a photoframe closeup of their butthole on their desk?

By your rationale we shouldn’t shelter people who wear massive prosthetic boobs in a classroom either? After all such is the way the world works right? They are as vulnerable to the social implications of their actions, or is that just for minors?

For me, my disapproval is not from disgust, but it's distracting from a bunch of angles. This guy is fetishizing boobs, but who cares right? He's mocking male and female sexuality in front of people who are trying to learn in spite of their own hopped up sexuality.
