the world where the 'hardness of your labor' determines the amount of your pay is a world full of hard labor.
the world where the 'value of your work to others' determines the amount of your pay is a world full of value. I prefer the latter!

Would you agree that the world used to value hard labor but has moved (is moving) to the latter?

just because someone would buy it doesn't mean that it brings value to their life
you more often find meaningful value in things that were created by hard work

Yeah, forgive me but I think a RN or a teacher provides way more value to others than any investment banker.

Utter nonsense and self congratulatory cope. So many variables not considered here.
At the end of the day, your product doesn't generate clean running water, eletricity, shelter, energy, infrastructure, etc. Its value is superfluous.

The Labor Theory of Value isn't just cruel (although it is); it's also merely wrong (cf. the Marginal Revolution). Why we don't call Marxists and other adherents to the Labor Theory of Value "science deniers" is an important question.

Why do essential workers often make so little? Their work is most valuable to society.
