I'm very down with ppl reclaiming monogamy if they feel like they're 'supposed to be' poly, but I also don't wanna lose sight of which of those two relationship styles is the extremely dominant cultural norm, making up prob over 99% of relationships portrayed in media

yeah, maybe your friends are acting like poly is cool and this makes u feel lame for being monog, but also remember u need to step outside like two feet into the vast majority of normal culture who mocks poly men as cucks and poly women as whores.

yeah, in more conservative areas poly ppl often cant be open about their lifesyle for fear of getting fired. i met a guy in idaho who i figured out was poly, and i asked him, and he was like SHHHHH cause he was worried people around us would hear, he was like jfc i am not out yet

People socialize at work. There are events where significant others are invited. Maybe people don’t want to fake being monogamous to fit in. These are good reasons for someone to be out as poly at work.
