If Graham Linnehan (noted 'transphobe') pressed the sci-fi button and gradually replaced parts of himself, at what point could he be considered clean enough to restart his career. Could he ever really be trusted again not to reoffend?
I mean, "If magic could turn one thing into the exact same thing as a different thing, then anything can be anything else" isn't really a good point in reality. "Woman" is a concrete, discrete thing, our organs don't just have shapes but functions.
The issue with this is our transitioning methods aren’t advanced to the point where you can call it a true transition. I think its fair to try & accommodate trans ppl as best as one can, but I can’t deny that we’re not at a point where we can genetically re-engineer a whole body.
It's a false equivalence. Gradually swapping out wooden planks of a ship =/= to swapping out human parts for duck parts, nor is it the same as swapping out male parts to replace them with synthesized female parts. This is especially true since the original cells are never subbed.
