I find it interesting that as people experience more diverse qualia (drugs, meditation, near-death, etc) they essentially always increase or stay the same on the panpsychism spectrum. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone go the opposite direction

Panpsychism spectrum being something like solipsism on one extreme (only I experience qualia) to only humans to only animals to the fields of physics being fields of qualia on the other extreme

by solipsism do you mean “there’s only one being and it’s everywhere” or “there’s only one being and it’s in aellas head”

Like, I’m sitting in the grass near a dog rn. In one view the dog is also experiencing something, and it’s in some sense “me”, in the other view the dog is an imagination in my mind and there’s no other sense the dog is real or experiences anything, it’s just pixels I’m imagining

I feel sorta both. I believe that other beings experience qualia but I also believe that everyone I interact with is constructed and animated by my mind. In dreams my friends seem the same as they do in "real" life because in a way they are. Empathy creates characters

Ok wow, wait— This reads like your view is that you're in the matrix, and also you're in there by yourself?
If yes, and other people aren't real, in what sense (and why) do ethics matter to you?

Do you seriously believe there are no conscious beings other than yourself?
