I have around 34k responses for my kink survey, 71% male. The avg age of females is 24, and males 29.
Why do you think there's such a large gap in age? The gap holds when I check each specific survey source.

sorry to clarify, 'each specific survey source' means it holds for ppl who are coming from twitter, or reddit, or discord, or fetlife, or 'other'.
distribution here (i suspect the spike at 18 comes from 16-17 year olds lying about their age in order to take the survey)

You have to impose cuts to get rid of biased data, in this case I would say only use data with ages > 18. I’d expect the average ages to get closer. As you increase the cut threshold your data will get less biased but then you are throwing away some good data.

Always a trade off and unlike physics that can try to simulate exactly what % of the age 18 column is true or fake, the social sciences do not usually have these tools.

WHAT? More males at every age above 23, more females at every age up to 23? That sounds like a … um … “identifies as” issue.

- curves similar after 23 but shifted by 3-5 years
- male mini-spikes at rounded ages (25, 30,35,40,45)

There's two questions that come to mind: why are so many more 18-24yo females are taking the survey? why after about 25, do males take the survey more frequently?

Could be collider bias? Your sample skews young and male so by collider vias you'd expect a negative correlation between youth and maleness.
