I didn't plan on breaking my long writing hiatus today but since 's WIRED article sent hundreds of people to my "date-me doc" I decided to write up some thoughts about these docs and why mine isn't, in fact, one of them:

lol i wasnt mad that nobody was crediting me but now i am mad nobody is crediting me. i didnt realize i was the originator of all this, but now that i think about it i can't think of anyone else i knew doing applications (or docs) when i made mine
i do vaguely remember me tryin to get everyone else to make applications, and someone was like 'i dont wanna do that but im gonna make a doc'. idk if it was but i think regardless she was one of the first ones to do an actual doc

It's almost certainly been thought of independently several times
I had basically the same idea in high school
