update: when u flush one toilet, the other toilet gurgles water into the bowl. today the shower was clogged, water sitting a few inches deep, not draining. i flush the toilet, almost nothing in it, it clogs. i plunge it. i turn around and the shower has instantly drained. wat??

3. He installed a 2nd bathroom - not on the other side of the house that needs it, but DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE ORIGINAL BATHROOM. The bthrm is so small the sink pushes you to the side when you sit down, but at least now you can make eye contact with your buddy when you both poo

To my understanding, it’s because by doing these things, your’re changing the air to water pressure differentials on different nodes on the system. They are supposed to be setup to isolate such interactions, as I’m sure much more qualified people will tell you.

If that's an older house and there's no septic, there's also a chance that the main drain line got damaged by some tree roots. Totally call a plumber, snaking the main drain is not a job you'd want to do yourself.
