I remember being confused as a kid as to why God from the Bible didn't seem to have any humor. Something felt strange and weird about His humorlessness. Why was everything religious so serious all the time? I remember feeling like it was all missing some deep good thing.

God has a sense of humor. religion is the issue. people who run some religions have adopted the intent of control; the pursuit of power and control doesn't allow for humor.

Maybe he just doesn't joke when it comes to talking to humans. Or humor as we use it really wouldn't serve much of a purpose with a divine being.

because he himself is wildly different than many have purported him to be? this seems like a problem with the “representatives”. it’s a rough quality of religiosity. you have to wonder, would utilizing humor have been seen as inviting too independent a mindset?
