it feels like... im a scuba diver, in scuba diver communities, dating scuba divers, and someone goes 'but are u afraid some ppl wont date u cause they dont like water' and im like... that really doesn't feel like the kinds of problems i have with relationships at this point

sure sometimes we fight over what brand of oxygen tank to use or communication difficulties that happen when you're underwater but it seems like you're not conceiving of the idea that there's a whole world out there where 'liking water' is just a basic, entry-level filter

I desire this exact dynamic but my anecdotal experience is that the vast majority of cis het women (especially in the US) have rather extreme reservations about leaving their man off-leash.

oh yeah! it depends a lot on the type of situation i'm in. I usually feel jealousy when i'm not totally secure in my relationship, like when i'm processing other people as a threat to my closeness with my partner. this is imo normal. sometimes they are a threat!

Super curious - do you think your preference will change any if (when) you have kids? Monogamy seems to be conducive to a stability in life that I can’t imagine raising a kid without. I really like sex, but it hasn’t been at the top of my priority list for a long time.
