Think it depends. Obv novelty is just a totally different thing than core person. Issue I could see is how does that warp perspective of the core interaction? Can argue it shouldn't, but I'd imagine it would and whether that's good or bad is debatable. Hard to answer realisticaly

Novelty is always fun. But your question was strongly framed as idealistically ideal and in that ideal world your partner is/feels always novel and fun. In a less ideal world or frame, sure, you’d optimise for staying curious, open, fun… still hard but easier than perfect love
