Fully ideal may also mean to people that you're satisfied with yes, even if irl you may not be.

My reasoning: even if I could have "monogamy for thee but not for me", what I really want is someone who wants me exclusively, and I don't believe stability and harmony are so easily attainable just because my partner would be chill with whatever.

One problem is that we unconsciously put bounds upon the concept of what is ideal. An ideal world wouldn't have disease, for a start. An ideal world might involve oneself overcoming one's prejudices. But there are questions of identity. One grows with others. Who are we?
