at this point i just really want a good programmer to come in and fix all my code and pat me on the head and make everything okay cause im about to start crying from frustration here
ive hit the point where i got 90% of what i need to do finished, but the code is messy and weird and slow, and the last tiny 10% is confusing af and i cant get the motivation to do it cause its only the last bit and i just wanna be saved by an all powerful diety
re: ppl saying make dummy data, I'd have to figure out how, while preserving the (many hundreds of) column names, and then somehow keeping the same type of data in each column, within the same range (some issues i have is confused data ranges)
Create a duplicate of the real data, and anonymise all the columns that are sensitive. It doesn't matter if it's nonsense, as long as you have a unique key for each item e.g., a serial number.
I'm sure I'm not the only one of your followers who runs a software consulting company and has an NDA ready to go. I'd suggest going that route. I don't think your dataset is that much more sensitive than the HIPAA or fortune 500 data were used to dealing with.
Do you injoy the programming even if you need help? Becaus regardless if its to circumvent or procrastinate from your original issues I think its worth it if you injoy it, so far you have seemd quite exited about the whole prosses. Roadblocks ar though though, fight on! ^^
Keep fighting.
One surprisingly effective technique is Rubber Duck Programming. Try to explain your problem in detail to a rubber duck.
If it feels crazy try it first on a live programmer rather than a rubber duck, a bit more responsive.
I could lend you 2-3h on the phone, hmu
