to all the ppl saying that disgust is a good indicator of morality, u do realize that anti-gay, anti-abortion, etc. people are morally disgusted by it, right? "don't question my moral disgust" is a really useful thing to believe if you don't wanna change your mind

i'm a moral nihilist i think, i also like indicators for things you want/don't want or true/fake things, as far as that goes disgust is a pretty limited indicator

Ok, but it's not a bad indicator because it's uncorrelated with morality or whatever, it's a bad indicator because there are no good indicators of morality. This leaves you in the awkward spot of having to argue that people shouldn't care about whether something disgusts them.

Or that they shouldn't endorse caring about it, or something like that. And they might perfectly rationally just be like, nah fuck that, I hate things that disgust me, and then there isn't much left you can say to that.

curious, why a nihilist and not a noncognitivist? By definition (I think) that'd mean you believe that moral propositions could have truthmakers, but don't -- what would those truthmakers look like?

I’m also a moral nihilist. I think for a moral proposition like “pleasure is morally good” to be true, instantiations of pleasure need to have a property that mind independently justifies pursuing it as an end. There are no such properties, so all moral claims are false.

Moral nihilist? If so, why would anyone change their mind about a moral judgment? Any morality would be as good as any other. You are arguing from inside a moral framework yourself.
