A lot of hours in my day are spent vaguely trying to do things and feeling guilty about not doing them, but feeling too tired to focus or have motivation, and then just sort of.... waiting for the day to end so I can sleep and hope I have a bit more energy the next day.

re: some of the comments, when I have energy I have motivation. I don't think my issue is how to increase motivation, it's how to increase energy. When I take adderall I have the energy to want everything.

It might be due to repeated use of adderral. Amphetamines deplete your dopamine levels and result in reduced energy and motivation. Dr Huberman (podcast) talks about this. Might be worth trying recovery blend and staying off addys for a while

naw; i feel motivated during parts of the day i have natural energy. I also don't use adderall that often (2-3x a week, low doses), and started using it around a year ago. My fatigue started around a decade ago.

Got it. Sorry to hear, not a doctor so prob shouldn’t say much more. I’ve had health issues in the past and learned through experimentation that it was due to diet. Stopped taking protein powder with 4-hydroxy isoleucine (an insulin memetic). Added a ton of fresh veges as well

makes sense. recovery was slow for me too. it took a few months. when I started, my hypothesis was to 'do what our ancestors did'. only ate fresh veges, fruit, moderate meat, potatoes, no grain and def no packaged foods. also cranked up cardio. cardio helped a lot
