A lot of hours in my day are spent vaguely trying to do things and feeling guilty about not doing them, but feeling too tired to focus or have motivation, and then just sort of.... waiting for the day to end so I can sleep and hope I have a bit more energy the next day.

re: some of the comments, when I have energy I have motivation. I don't think my issue is how to increase motivation, it's how to increase energy. When I take adderall I have the energy to want everything.

I don't think any of those? This has been more or less the norm for me for the past decade.

Yes, very mild/borderline sleep apnea. I got a cpap but it kept me from falling asleep so I stopped using it.

I sometimes use nicotine lozenges for a short-lasting stimulant effect to solve those states. (Nicotine is not part of why smoking causes cancer; the carcinogens are from combustion.) The half-life is two hours, compared to about ten for adderall. I take half a 2mg lozenge.

This is how I feel every day. I know exactly what needs to be done to be the person I aspire to be but being that person requires more effort than I’m willing to put in. I’ve read atomic habits, The obstacle is the Way, Extreme ownership, etc. I’m disappointed with what I am.
