i had a layover in saudi arabia once and i felt that confusion but really strongly. all the women were in head-to-toe black and they had a separate woman-only line with female staff for security and i was like, am i in saudi arabia or not damnit

I made a conscious choice not to stop in Saudi Arabia when coming back from Abu Dhabi. I went to Cairo instead and it was fascinating.
