one issue i have is the anti-degeneracy ppl dont have a compassionate plan to offer people like me. I've lived in their world before and it was horrible for me, my mental health, my sense of fulfillment. It was active suffering! But their answer is "well *you* were the wrong one"

In that case something is fundamentally wrong with this so-called ideal world. People tend to think that they have a knowledge of how everything should be, and are too stupid to understand that their vision is limited and ideas flawed. Glad for you, your instincts are good)

They’ll just give you the Nuremberg defense - just following orders from God. And maybe add if you truly got right with God he’d purge those degenerate desires, so the persistence of those desires is evidence you aren’t believing hard enough.

Feels bad. On one hand I can sort of see their POV on some things but you just can’t expect that of everyone nor can you simply write off anyone whose life path hasn’t conformed to your ideals. I believe their are often puritans for their own sake

Our method for discouraging certain things has been pretty awful. I think there are still a class of things to discourage because: 1. they often don't have good outcomes; 2. society won't work if everybody does it. It would be nice if that didn't involve shaming the people who...
