one issue i have is the anti-degeneracy ppl dont have a compassionate plan to offer people like me. I've lived in their world before and it was horrible for me, my mental health, my sense of fulfillment. It was active suffering! But their answer is "well *you* were the wrong one"

"If adherence to the good and righteous world makes your life miserable, then there is something fundamentally wrong with you" vibes that just really do not mesh well with my sense of self acceptance and love

Wouldn't call my self an "anti-degeneracy" guy in the way that I think you mean, but what exactly do you mean by "people like me" ?

It seems that the goal of living "anti degen" lifestyle is to achieve sustained peace of mind thru ones life. The idea is that a degen life eventually leads to emptiness. This doesn't mean degen life isn't attractive and one can be in principle anti degen but still be tempted

It's a constant battle to try and get to this disciplined place while still recognizing you're human

The real concern isn't what you do privately; it's about the normalization of it. Living as a libertine privately is much more OK to them (I'd guess, you have more experience than I do) than *lobbying* for libertinism.

Calling it “promiscuous” is one of the biggest issues. Though technically correct, the negative connotation is damaging. Human mammals are one of the very few who engage in monogamous behavior, & it stems from religion & unnatural power systems. (Nature also has power systems)
