I’m sure that’s true. And giving myself permission to fulfill my wants has gone well and poorly. I’ve found that my wants come from different places. Some from a trustworthy place, some from a less trustworthy place.

Until I noticed the difference, and inquired into what my wants serve, I would find as much pain as fulfillment. I haven’t been successful denying wants from the ‘untrustworthy place’ but I’ve made headway in metering it out.

I wonder how age skews these answers. Specifically how do the elderly view these things? We are far enough along that folks who lived through the sexual revolution are elderly now.
