i hate the trans culture war; can't people agree that 'being trans' is a real oppressed thing we need way more cultural compassion for, and also that trans ppl aren't in fact completely biologically identical to their desired gender and u cant control ppl's perception of gender

and the whole 'allowing kids to transition' question, i dont have a good answer but can't we at least *start* that discourse with "fuck that's a really hard question and no matter what proposal we go with, someone's gonna end up hurt", *before* we go yell at others they're wrong?

its like the trans issue breaks people's brains, turns both sides into the worst versions of themselves, makes them see the other side as the most evil threat that wants to destroy all good, and can't comprehend that brains might actually just *work differently* than their own

I consider myself an “extremist” on the gender critical side. Our demands are totally reasonable. We aren’t trying to shame anyone out of identifying as trans. We want everyone treated with dignity & respect. We just don’t want gender self-id to replace sex in law or policy.

Recognising that biological sex is binary. Immutable, objective and clearly defined and over 2 billion years old is not extreme. Claiming that humans can change sex, are born in the wrong body and expecting everyone else to validate that personal view is the extreme view
