i hate the trans culture war; can't people agree that 'being trans' is a real oppressed thing we need way more cultural compassion for, and also that trans ppl aren't in fact completely biologically identical to their desired gender and u cant control ppl's perception of gender

and the whole 'allowing kids to transition' question, i dont have a good answer but can't we at least *start* that discourse with "fuck that's a really hard question and no matter what proposal we go with, someone's gonna end up hurt", *before* we go yell at others they're wrong?

Nobody thinks that trans people are “biologically identical to their desired gender”.
We’re aware you can’t control people’s perception of gender. That said, transitioning by itself leads to a lot of trans individuals being perceived as their gender identity without question.

Truth is, if the trans polity would leave other peoples kids out of it, it would all be a non-issue. It’s been spotlit as a central culture war focus for the purpose of deconstruction. The people doing this shit haven’t exactly been hiding their intentions.
