If you could genetically engineer your children to be born with personalities such that they *love* tedious, uninspired modern life - stuff like going to college for accounting, working in offices, stuck in traffic, paying bills, etc. - these things bring profound joy, would you?

Human individuals are just not smart enough to make such profound decisions for others. Have humility. No matter how intelligent one is, horrific unintended consequences of such an action cannot be anticipated.

I’d want to have a few kids and do this just to one or two. Control group + minimizes sibling rivalry.

I remember walking out of a maths class, and someone complaining that the teacher seems to enjoy math too much, and to shot them if they ever get that way. Obviously a joke, but my thought was 'but that would be great! Much easier to study and use maths if I enjoyed it more!'

This should be prefaced with, "If you agree with human genetic engineering..." As it stands, I don't know if there's a lot of people opposed to GE or just a lot of selfish people who'd rather have children they like than have really happy children.

I’d rather have a child that loved inane shit than hated it cause it’d being *them* enjoyment so yes. also accounting ain’t so bad
