How offputting is it to immediately start considering long term compatibility with a new potential romantic partner?

went on a second date with a dude recently and we did a "ok why *shoudn't* we get married" and then we ran down all the potential reasons we'd be incompatible, which was fun
This is basically what I do, but I don't ask the woman out until I can't find a good enough reason to reject marriage to her.
The line of my forefathers will likely die with me. I think that there is something to be said for foolishness.
