I think I believe that’s the case? Like if they aren’t burdened by unresolved trauma then I think they really do feel just like… a person

This reminds me of a scenario in Kurt Vonnegut’s The Sirens of Titan, which is one of my favourite novels.
The followers of the Church of God the Utterly Indifferent wear weights or ugly make-up and clothes to cancel out their physical advantages and make themselves truly equal.

doing it for kicks sounds funny, but I feel like this would also make you a more empathetic person. esp with kids which are relatively easy to look down on otherwise
