this is legit, but my criticism is of the right wing ppl who are doing this, but using the veneer of value-independent-freedom to criticize left wing censorship. If they didn't use that excuse then I'd find their position less inconsistent.

Worth noting that they've had to adopt this veneer to be taken seriously & have any headway for their views. Yes, it leads to incongruous views but that's a side-effects of how ostracized their positions had become.

I think that would say (paraphrasing Scruton) - morality, as with art, consists of drawing the line somewhere they're drawing lines in different places in different domains and appealing to principles like 'freedom' post hoc - everyone does with this to some extent everything
