Yeah, mostly agree. If you’re a hereditary academic-class person you probably have a good shot of a cushy professorship publishing life, but most people who are just “interested” would be better served with a real job and free time.

I have a cousin who majored in art history, he’s a museum curator now. Ofc, that’s not what most of these folks have in mind.
