In my survey (18k males), I asked "[In childhood] Was agency/responsibility placed more on you (individualism/grin and bear it/pull yourself up by boostraps), or the world (fight for change/ask for help/demand what you're owed?)" Here's what their answers correlated with

All correlations were pretty weak, but in this type of (highly multidimensional, lots of nuanced effects) field, weak correlations can still be interesting (to calibrate, PTSD was correlated with being victim of adult sexual assault at r=0.2 in my data). but anyway

Ppl who reported more the "responsibility on me" side of the scale were spanked more often in childhood (r=0.2), had more sexually repressive upbringings (r=.18), scored as slightly more conscientious and had slightly more verbal abuse by a man during childhood (0.13).

thanks for sharing results! Did you define 'economically liberal' during the survey? Did they self report that (if so, what were the options) or did you have indicators for the variable? Asking because people use that term colloquially to mean different things, curious!

I had it defined as: "Economic leftists tend to prefer higher government involvement in the economy, for example more wellfare or wage regulations. Economic rightists tend to prefer lower government involvement in the economy, for example free markets and low taxes"
