This is so true, and I've noticed it for years. Who is a sympathetic, well-rounded, Asian woman protagonist or important supporting character in a Hollywood movie? I struggle to name even one.

my guess is less that this is indicative of racism on the writers part and more cold analysis of what will sell better. If they thought good Asian woman leads would make more money they'd probably be smashing that $ button
