When people make arguments against things using words like "creepy", "weird", "disgusting", or "offensive", my brain mostly just tunes it out, like doesn't process it as an argument at all.
Imagine being horrified by a funny dude in a dress.
Someone in those comments called people who do drag "groomers."
I asked them to explain their logic, and they just refuse to give me a straight answer.
I've been going hard trying to get some reasons. They don't have any. It just elicits disgust and they're not self-aware enough to figure out why, generally.
Always interesting to hear about a conversation you didn't know was happening. Who is wondering whether children should be able to watch drag shows, out of interest?
It’s also notable the folks freaking out about this feel the need to invent hypothetical situations rather than like directly analyze actual family-friendly drag shows, which are a TOOTSIE level of transgression
I’d argue that now a drag show isn’t the worst thing. But injecting things like a sign that says ‘it’s not gonna suck it’s self’ or anything sexual added to what could be seen as a fashion show opens the door for abusers to abuse children
