all the disagreeable independent thoonkers answering "likely" to this will at the most have come up with a minor quibble about a random verse or the life of some saint and drive the local priest mad arguing about it for years

a reminder that basically all the geniuses who invented modern skepticism: 1. lived from the mid-16th century onward, not in 1400 2. lived in big cities and read Aristotle, not in a small town 3. were still mostly pretty religious

Yes but I would go mad at the same time. Being surrounded by people that believe strongly in something that basically makes no rational or reasonable sense to me would drive me insane.

I answered very unlikely for this time period (even though I'm agnostic atheist now in a mostly Christian community) because I know how much the internet has helped me, and I am also factoring in how naïve I've been in the 21st century concerning religious phenomena.
