there's different types of emotional maturity. i expect men to be more stable and women to be more aware of their emotions

On the whole women are allowed to express more emotions, however, the baseline of emotional maturity in society as a whole is very low.
Emotional maturity is not taught or valued, i.e. it is not celebrated like wealth or high status is.

On-the-go take: (Generally) Men don't try to pretend they are mature - "Boys will be boys".
(Generally) Women do virtue signal false maturity.
Actual levels are similar to each other. It's a case of expectations variance for me.

It’s weird, I expect women to be more emotionally mature, but the opportunity cost of this for men seems to be being more reliable in times of crisis.
