One big change in my twitter use due to follower count increase was that I engage with respondents *way* less. I used to like... have debates with people who disagreed, or clarify in response to comments more, but I'm increasingly feeling like twitter is not the forum for that.

I suspect a bit of it is feeling like... vulnerability in people being able to make me respond to them, or something? Which I really didn't mind before but now it really feels more like a vulnerability, like opening myself up to an audience all sitting there with knives

Debates which used to feel invigorating now are more exhausting; some part of my mental energy is going into more... caution? Less throwing stuff to see what sticks? Imagine a nice discussion with a friend in your living room except hundreds of people are waiting to pounce on you

It would be nice, if instead of people pouncing on any perceived "mistake" or "error in thinking", that etiquette became, "yes and". They would have to agree with something first and then offer a slightly different route then what you took. I suspect it would feel nicer.!
